My new digs

12 November 2008

Every so often, I get a hankerin to make some changes. This blog will probably not be all that much different from my previous blog content wise, but who knows.

What I do like at WordPress is how much more flexibility I have with the layout, design, and implementation of what I want in the way I present my material. A simple example is the header picture. I could not find a way to change in that my previous blog, and now I have the ability to chose my own pictures to change in there without going through some really difficult, involved process. Yeah, I took that picture, and I anticipate changing the picture to better reflect seasons, moods, and experiences that are relevant.

And honestly, I haven’t really felt that great about my ability to write in quite a while, which is why I mostly stopped writing. Having a “clean sheet of paper” is one of my ways to begin writing again without the clutter of past mistakes, regretable comments, and painful reminders of how much farther I have to go to find maturity.

Don’t get me wrong, I feel I wrote some really good things worth reading, but they are hard to find – at least in my humble opinion.

So what, if anything, is this new page going to produce? I’m open for suggestions.

Once a Week, I will pose the question, “What do you want to know about Steve Bragg?” I will review the comments, choose the most significant question (read-the question that I feel most compelled to answer), and then write a post in response.

I imagine I’m going to be a bit more open regarding my relationship with Jesus. If that offends you, either deal with it and move on or feel free to press into that with me.

I imagine I’m going to be more open to discussing my opinions regarding my urban lifestyle, my desire for environmental “green-ness”, practical sense, and my love of Taza.

I may write a review of books, art, and events in which I participate. Bottom line, I’m going to write again. Hopefully it won’t suck.

I know that the few readers I may still have are located in worlds far differently structured than mine, and I don’t want to marginalize them or discount their opinions. Hopefully a new site will be a refreshing opportunity for all to engage and bridge the divisions of long ago. I know I’m nobody. At least nobody with significant credibility to respond to questions regarding the world in which we live, but I do have opinions. And if those matter, then please ask.

Many thanks for taking the time to follow me to a new place.
